Dumaguete Facts
Quezon Park in Dumaguete was formally dedicated in the afternoon of September 17, 1916 with firing of cannons, speeches, music and refreshments. The Park was formerly the plaza between the Catholic Church and the Casa Tribunal. For years it had been a cornfield or a mass of weeds. Under the direction of the provincial treasurer, Juan Posadas, it was transformed into a recreation ground with green lawns, gravel walks, flowerbeds and concrete benches.
