After receiving the DILG- Gawad Pamana ng Lahi Award in Region 7, Dumaguete City is again in the top ten in the Galing Pook Award all over the province for its best practice in environment.
The prestigious Galing Pook Award is proof how the city is run, City Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria said who will receive the award in Malacanang on January 30, 2013.
Out of 122 cities all over the country, 16 were chosen to present their respective best practices, and Dumaguete is among the top 10 for presenting the Septage facility located in barangay Camanjac. — with RBandilyo Dumaguete, Rene Genove, Elvira Galvez Alagao, Syril Repe, Manuel Teves Sagarbarria, Alex Rey Pal, Pia NegOr and Neil C. Rio.
