VISIT VALENCIA IN NEGROS ORIENTAL

Amity Shrine: Filipino-Japanese-American Amity ShrineSabang, Valencia, Negros Oriental, Philippines
This tri-sidal shrine representing the Japanese, American and Filipino forces which clashed in the area in the bitterest final encounter of World War II in Negros Oriental is the object of a yearly pilgrimage of Japanese and Filipino war veterans.

In the town of Valencia, Negros Oriental located 9.4 kilometers west of Dumaguete City lies the beautiful Casaroro Falls considered to be the most photographed waterfall in the entire Negros province.

Casaroro Falls is lodged deep into the rock crevices of the rugged Valencia mountains. With an astounding height of 100 feet, the water plunges into a deep cold basin before it flows down to a stream. The waterfall is considerably narrow, instead of the usual wide cascade, but this is precisely what makes Casaroro unique. Though despite its narrowness, the volume of water that drops is heavy and causes a roar as it touches the pool. Around the basin are natural boulders huge enough to rest any traveler’s weary feet.

Valencia at The Forest Camp. Is 30 minutes drive from Dumaguete has really nice grounds which include 6 fresh water pools that run out of the mountains. It's COLD water and super clean. Nature at its best!

Pulangbato Falls has a wide cascade. The water pours down into a swimming hole that is also deep enough for high dives. Enthusiasts clamber up to a nearby rock that functions as a diving point and free fall into the water basin. The shape of Pulangbato Falls has been considered unique because of its layered structure. At the first tier, the cascade begins narrowly and widens progressively as it moves down the next levels. At a distance, the waterfalls look triangular in shape.

It is also the color of the water in Pulangbato Falls that makes it more special. It appears to be red but quickly turns clear once taken out from the river. It must be only a reflection of the red rock formations that make up most of the landscape. Surrounding the waterfall is thick foliage of wild plants and vegetation coupled with some trees. The ambience is rather calming in an unsophisticated kind of way because of the impression of being far from civilization.
