Dumaguete Facts
In 1982 Dumaguete was classified a first class city. With the change in administration after the 1986 EDSA Revolution it has become a third class city. However, the income of the city has been increasing since 1886.
Considerable social and economic progress in the city had been achieved during the term of Mayor Agustin Perdices; like the building of the slaughterhouse, the various housing projects, completing the reconstruction of the public market, etc.
At the same time, eleven barangay roads measuring 200 meters in length and 5 meters in width each, started construction in early 1989. These road constructions were in barangay Motong, Banilad, Mangnao, Cadawinonan, Junob, Camanjac, Candau-ay and Balugo.
