Congratulations! DUMAGUETE AWARDED AS MOST IMPROVED COMPONENT CITY IN THE PHILIPPINES

Dumaguete City has been recognized as the Most Improved (Ranked 1) among the component cities in the Philippines during the 10th Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Summit held at the Philippine International Convention Center today.

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Acting Vice-Mayor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Councilor Dionie Amores and DTI-Negros Oriental Provincial Director Nimfa Virtucio accepted the award on behalf of the City Government of Dumaguete.
The Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Summit is one of the DTI Competitiveness Bureau’s Programs which enjoins LGUs to gather and submit data that serves as basis for their scores and ranks.
Since 2012, the CMCI Program culminates with a Summit, where the most competitive cities and municipalities are recognized for excelling in the 5 Competitiveness Pillars namely Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, Resiliency and Innovation.
Now on its 10th year, the DTI, through the Competitiveness Bureau once again gathers local chief executives and recognizes the most competitive cities, municipalities, and provinces for this year’s cycle.
This year’s summit is held with the theme “A Decade of Excellence: Championing Innovation to Sustain Competitiveness.”
